Mansell completes works on phase one of £50m Care Village

Mansell Finishes has recently completed on-site works on phase one of Tattenhall Care Village located to the south of Chester.

Appointed by Main Contractor Seddon Construction following a competitive tender, Mansell commenced on-site in January 2017 with works completed to phase one in July 2017. Timescales on the project were demanding and Mansell was able to meet them by working closely with Seddon Construction to produce detailed resource programmes and logistics plans.

Worth almost £400,000 to the company, Mansell’s works included 35,000m2 of drylining, 10,000m2 of ceilings and 45,000m2 of plastering.

The initial phase of 48 luxurious apartments at the Inspired Villages development, known as Inspired Tattenhall, will offer the over 65s exclusive one and two-bedroom homes. Designed by architect Pozzoni, once fully completed in 2018 the retirement village will have 162 apartments, penthouses and other on-site facilities plus a wide variety of social and leisure activities and a range of care packages. In addition to the homes, a wellness spa, relaxation pool, gym, shops, restaurants, bowling green, library and community space promise to offer an ‘active and luxurious’ lifestyle.

Inspired Villages is a partnership between experienced retirement village operator English Care Villages and Places for People, one of the largest property and leisure management, development and regeneration companies in the UK.

Dean Johnston, Managing Director at Mansell Finishes, comments: “This is the latest retirement village development to be added to the Inspired Villages portfolio and will offer first class facilities and care for the over 65s once fully completed. It’s an ambitious project and required a great deal of planning, but with our experience of working with Seddon Construction we were able to ensure that works were carried out smoothly and to the timescales specified.”
