Mansell gets green light on Metframe installation for Hotel Indigo

Main contractor Bowmer & Kirkland has appointed Mansell Finishes to supply and install a Metsec Metframe SFS pre-panelised system as part of the new 73-bedroom Hotel Indigo development on Grosvenor Park Road in Chester.

Mansell Finishes’ works, which are worth £520,000 to the company and commenced at the end of August 2018, are expected to last nine weeks and will see the pre-panelisation and installation of almost 2,500m2 of pre-panelised SFS.

Pre-panelisation of the frames will be completed at Mansell Finishes’ production facility in Middleton, Manchester and will see them delivered to site at the exact time they are required using just in time delivery methods, a key requirement due to the tight city centre location.

Once completed the development will also offer a bar, restaurant and resident-only gym and will be operated under the Indigo brand, the boutique offering from the InterContinental Hotel Group chain that currently provides more than 744,000 guest rooms globally. The Indigo brand seeks to reflect local architecture and character so the development in Chester has been uniquely designed to reflect the personality and history of the surrounding area.

Neil Shaw, Design Manager at Bowmer & Kirkland, comments: “We brought Mansell Finishes in following issues with an existing contractor and they immediately added value by offering their support and advice during the design phase of the project. Their proactiveness towards problem solving and on-site issues was refreshing, appreciated and essential for our programme to be achieved. Their expertise in installing pre-panelised SFS, plus their experience of working in tight city centre locations, made them the ideal partner on this development.”
