Trio of site manager appointments at Mansell

Due to an increasing number of on-site and off-site contract wins, Mansell Finishes has appointed three new Site Managers.

Reporting to the senior management team, Eddie Grey (56), James Nugent (53) and Michael Davin (35) have all joined Mansell Finishes and will take responsibility for programmes of works and quality assurance on a variety of construction projects.

Eddie Grey, from Droylsden in Manchester, is a City & Guilds Accredited Plasterer and has worked for numerous companies throughout the north west rising up the career ladder to Finishing Foreman on the Britannia Mills project for Urban Splash. This is his second stint at Mansell Finishes, having previously joined the company in 1999, and Eddie is currently site managing the Kampus development in Manchester, a £5 million on-site contract for Main Contractor Mount Anvil.

James Nugent, also known as Jock, currently lives in Salford, Manchester and has previous experience in site management including drylining and structural framing systems. This is also his second period of employment at Mansell Finishes, having previously worked at the company for over 12 years. He commenced his career as an apprentice at Stubby Star Ceilings and has gone on to work at companies including Astins, Baris UK and Kinder.

Originally from Whitehaven, Cumbria, Michael Davin now lives in Stoke-on-Trent and is the most widely travelled of the trio, having worked all over the UK and also in Gibraltar and Bermuda. With over six years’ site management experience. Michael has an NVQ2 in Solid Plastering and is currently working towards an NVQ6 in Construction Site management.

In his spare time Eddie is a keen fisherman and is in the Guinness Book of Records as the current holder for catching the heaviest recorded Indian Grass Carp weighing in at a whopping 17lbs and 10oz, as recognised by the International Game Fishing Association.

Jock is a Manchester United fan and enjoys walking and reading while Michael loves playing rugby and is an enthusiastic restorer of classic motorcycles.

Commenting on the trio’s appointment, Steve Green, Contracts Director at Mansell Finishes says: “We are experiencing a period of unprecedented growth so need highly experienced site managers that can hit the ground running. Having worked for the company before, in Eddie and Jock we have proven operators, so their re-appointment was a no-brainer. Although a little younger, Michael has proven experience at this level and all bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the company and our clients to ensure that we continue to deliver our works on time and to the highest quality.”
